    The reverse, "Dem Verdienste" was used between 1828 and 1871 for non-Saxons. Saxon natives had "F?r Verdienste und Treue," which became the only reverse from 1871 to 1918.

    The ribbon stripes got lighter in the 20th century.

    I wasn't measuring them... I was wiping sweat off my paws (90?F/33?C) and scanning, scanning, scanning. :rolleyes:

    According to Weber, Arnol;d, & Keil, from 1828 to 1870 there were 87 of these awarded--and this is definitely from the late period (1849+) of which there were only 17 of that total!!!!!!! :speechless1:
