    ek1 with a hole

    Recommended Posts

so anyways, any opinions about the hole drilled into the top arm of the frame?!?

Maybe it was to sew onto the uniform. Pity about the broken clasp.

I've been waiting a long time for someone to post this type of cross, I believe it's the same as mine (hope you don't mind me attaching a photo, as I've never seen this type of reverse on another piece). any idea as to who the maker might be, comes in a maroon case.

    regards

I have always thought these to be period repairs. However these to

crosses appear to be identical. It would be interesting to find out how

many more of these are out there.

which kind of maroon case is it? a private puchase or the ubiquitous style with the gold cross embossed on the lid?

any chance of a peek at your case?

    cheers, eric

    hello eric

hope this may help was given from a ww2 ek1 holder his ww2 ek1,which had a hole drilled in the top arm,

he said it was done by himself, simply so he could pin it to a wood beam in his house, so he could look at it i am sure many ww1 and ww2 vets did the same thing,

    all the best
