Jason Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Hello gents, I'm thinking of moving onto trying to acquire a set of navy wound badges, but have had zero opportunity to even handle one. Can anyone out there offer some advice on what to look for in an original? It seems there are plenty of fakes floating around and I really don't want to take a chance on a dodgy one!cheers Jason
Stogieman Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 The usual rules apply here... I would not buy one of these except from a known, reputable seller with iron-clad guaranty of originality. I've seen less than a dozen real ones....... ever. Of course you can buy pretty much near 3 dozen a week from the "usual suspects" ;>)
Jason Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Thanks Risck - let the search begin!cheers Jason
Stogieman Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 The usual Hamburg connections have had a few black ones lately. Sad thing is there's so many fakes of these kicking around in the US and Europe that prices are depressed IMO......
JensF. Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Here is my black Navy badge which should be original. Maybe it helps to give you some tips how it should look like. This one is made from iron.
Stogieman Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Hi jens, you have a couple more right? Seems I remember you had a silber too?
Jason Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 Thanks Jens, now that I have something to work from it'll me a bit easiercheers Jason
