    WW2 Brit DFC Group

    Recommended Posts

He's not in the 1953 or 1955 Air Force Lists, so probably was out by the Coronation.

Both of his DFCs were Gazetted in 1945 (without citations) and the date looks right on the cross. The private naming is not a great detraction, especially with the other "go-with" stuff.

I wouldn't have great qualms about this one. A log book would cement to the deal, but what's there is quite appropriate for a WWII double-DFC recipient.

    Hi,

Jeff sums it up well, he feels it is "Right" and I would tend to agree, but at the end of the day the owner will have to feel the same to be happy with it.

My torpedo bomber DKiG group is more or less the mirror image of this one, but from the german side. I have it because I feel it is "Right",

so... want to mention the price?

Well, I felt right about everything except the 4500-......... If Ed's pricing estimates are accurate, as a group this puppy was worth a substantial sum more, but I can't afford to lay that kind of cah out for the moment and just didn't feel right bidding on it as a "dealer" either. My hope is some Brit collector just won the lot of a lifetime for himself...........
