Reichswehr Marine soldiers

Got these two nice portraits yesterday ( on a rather boring fleamarket ).

They are not exciting, nor do they show something extraordinary, but Reichswehr navy portraits are hard to find, as not too much men served in the navy before 1935.

Also is a nice detail is the big Navy flag used as a background pattern.

Oddly enough, most of my Reichsmarine photos are of the "green navy" from shore units. Even my friend who lives in Hamburg has never found many Reichsmarine photos up there, let alone in Bavaria! :cheers:

I think the second one is my favorite, showing the flags behind the sailor. May i ask what type of material the photo is made from? Is almost looks like fabric with treading ?
