Nice photo with interresting medal bar

Recommended Posts

Hi Christophe,

nice pic!!!

The only Henning who got a Schwarzburg 3rd Class with swords was a Captain Henning in the Reserve-Ersatz- Infanterieregiment 2 30.07.1915 (thanks to Dave Danner for his work on Schwarzburg!!!)

Unfortunately there is no d.L. or d.R. mentioned in the roll, as well not his prewar assignment.

Best regards

Daniel

Then I think this must be Hauptmann d.L. a.D. Henning of Landwehrbezirk Oberlahnstein.

He was originally commissioned into Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 96 as a Sekonde-Lieutenant d.R. on 13.10.87 and was promoted to Oberleutnant d.R. on 14.11.96. He retired from the Landwehr 2nd Levy on 16 February 1904. Recalled for service he was promoted to Hauptmann d.L. a.D. on 25.11.14. He received the LD2 in 1895/96.

Regards

Glenn

OK, here are a couple of "suspects" from the Orders Almanac 1908/09, both Oberleutnants dL aD with nothing (then) but the LD2--

JOHANN born 25.1.1857 Homburg an der H?he, Landesbauinspektor

or

HEINRICH born 17.8.1854 Pillau, Rechnungsrat, Oberbuchhalter of the Reichshauptbank, Berlin W.

*@%& Prussians and NO FIRST NAMES! :banger:
