i was having breakfast with a local coin guy today, and we argued over who would pay. when i came back to the table after paying the bill, he slipped me these. nothing spectacular (except for the gesture and my surprise), but the alsen is nice. the one i am really intrigued by is the small medallion from schleswig-holstein.

p.s. i know what the medaillion was for, but could you or someone direct me to a reference site for schl.-holst. medals? there doesn't seem to be much out there.

That's because they Ceased To Be after 1849, so there never was much.

Minor point: "Erhebung" is not annexation. This is a coin to commemorate the 1848 uprising against the Danish government.
