Steve campbell Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Are you sure this is WW2 era and not from the 20s or 30s? It looks vaulted and has hardware that looks like early Shinkle, but no other TR type of cross. The case is WW2 but the EK may be earlier.
Eric Stahlhut Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) the ldo case is why i called it ww2..and yep the cross is vaulted. you are certainly correct--it's probably old stock that was mated with a later case...p.s. it measures in at 43mm exactly Edited September 14, 2008 by Eric Stahlhut
gregM Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I think Steve is right. I was always told that this particular style of cross was a1920s-30s made piece.
Steve campbell Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Either way it's a nice set, but it's hard to say if the two items came together. I would say no, as the case is probably mid war, with the cross maybe being 15-20 years older or more.

Steve campbell Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 No doubt they have been together for awhile. How long would it take for the effect you mention to happen? Ten years? Thirty? Thirty years is along time, yet it only puts us at 1978. Like i said, great set either way. I'd love to have it.
