HeikoGrusdat Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I want to add that he has killed a frack bar which makes it even more "AAAAAAAAArrrrrgggghhhh" because they are muh more rare than "normal" bars.... Heiko
David Gregory Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 What makes it even worse is the fact that the non-combatant Hindenburg cross suggests that the EK2 was also for a non-com, but on the black/white ribbon.By breaking up the bar, the "seller" (who lives up to his name) has not only destroyed an albeit small piece of history, but probably also reduced the selling value of his offering. The bar combination would almost certainly have sold for more than the sum of its constituent parts, quite apart from any historical "value" the bar may have had before it was destroyed by that careless idiot.
Stogieman Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Yes... agreed on all points. Unfortunately, someone will buy the bits and pieces and encourage this type of gouvna to continue...
Tom Y Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) Is anyone bidding on all the parts? Edited November 1, 2005 by Tom Y
Daniel Murphy Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 There should an International Militaria Collectors Police that would hunt these people downlike Interpol. You get caught detroying a historical item, firing squad! Yea, just like that. Dan Murphy
notned Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Gents,Why don't we all ask him a question...and voice our disgust at such barbaric practice!Hopefully discourage this person from doing this again....I know its wishful thinking......Hmmm, i like Dans idea.... kill em all....let God sort em out!!
David Gregory Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Just for the record, I am not bidding on any of the bits.I e-mailed the seller earlier this evening and he replied that he had already received a number of messages pointing out the error of his ways.
CRBeery Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I have one of these guys here in my area. He says individual medals sell faster and for more so he cuts up the bars. I will buy the ones that can be fixed and ad them to my pile of wayward bars in need of restoration. I have a few now .
Bob Hunter Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 This takes "parting out" to a new level or should that be new low?
Stogieman Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 so, he sees the error of his ways.... but it gets a big fat "oh well".What a loser.
