Gordon Craig
Time I contributed something to this forum. I bought this cased medal just over a year ago in Vienna. I could have bought the same thing in Budapest slightly cheaper but the condition was not as good.Regards,Gordon

Corabia Alex
Good day, Glad to have found this thread. Here is one of my recent findings:
Corabia Alex
Gordon, should I assume your version is the 1st Class ? Does it have any markings? Here`s something I found at another collector here in Romania:
Gordon Craig
Corbia Alex, This is not the first class award. Although it looks gold, and one would think it is a first class, it is actually the bronze class. I am unable to see any of the pictures that you posted. Regards, Gordon
Corabia Alex
Sorry about that; I was used to the old GMIC format, where you could upload photos. This "create album - make it public" is a little too complicated in my opinion. Mine has two stamping on the ear and one on the ring , I suppose for silver marking; second class maybe ? So, the one with trifolded ribbon is just as yours, third class? Any idea where I could get a decent piece of ribbon ? Alex (Corabia is the Danube crossing point of the Romanian Army in 1877 & 1913). trakkles
there are only a bronce and a silver red cross medal with and without wardecoration no third class or something else, the difference on the ribbons are depends on the owner if woman or man! the levels are red cross star, first class, officier class, second class, silver medal, bronc medal
Gordon Craig
Alex, Sorry but I do not know where you can get a section of original ribbon for your medal. Perhaps you could try Austrian ebay. I am away from home on holidays so can not check for markings on my medal. Regards, Gordon
