Chris Boonzaier
The Austrian division most interesting to me as they are closest to my beloved Alpenkorps...I know nothing about Austrian awards.... I assume this is a 1st class silver bravery medal?ThanksChris

Chris Boonzaier
Thanks guys...Do we have any members who may be able to look up such citations? It would be very interesting indeed... (For me at least ;-)Where does this 1st class medal rate on the Austrian Bravery scale? Like an EK1?BestChris
Viribus Unitis
Well the austrian NCO bravery System was the Following: Goldene TapferkeitsmedailleSilberne Tapferkeitsmedaille 1. KlasseSilberne Tapferkeitsmedaille 2. KlasseBronzene TapferkeitsmedailleSo it is Probable that an EK 2 would range as a Siler Bravery Medal 2nd class. But the Germans awarded the EK just to officers and never to NCOs. Instead the Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen. Edited December 27, 2008 by Viribus Unitis
Chris Boonzaier
Is anyone aware of folks who do reseach in Vienna? Paid researchers as well?
Guest Rick Research
The War Archive itself will do this for you. Ask Glenn who/where to contact-- my knowledge is almost 30 years out of date--snail mail days pre-computers.
