Lovely little group, all the better for the research information. He would be getting on in years come WWI, but I wonder if he managed to get himself into service then?

Leigh, he was discharged on June 12th, 1908 at almost 41 years old. I doubt he saw any service in WW1.

There is mention of his outstanding Good Conduct .. no drinking or carousing

And SHORT .. I've noticed most of these soldiers back them were all around 5 ft 5 inch or so ....
