2 Ribbon's Type of the Erinnerungskreuz des Marinekorps Flandern

    Recommended Posts

    Hello People,

I have one question about the "Erinnerungskreuz des Marinekorps Flandern":

Have this medal 2 types of ribbon?

The oficial ribbon for me is: black, white, red, black, red, white, black. Looks my Weimar Medal Bar below.

I bought one single Flandern Medal with one different ribbon in last month. This ribbos looks like as the ribbon of the "Deutsche Ehrendenkm?nze des Weltkrieges der Deustschen Ehrenlegion": white stripe, black, white, red, white stripe, black, white stripe, red, white, black, white stripe

Looks the ribbon of this very nice medal bar: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...ad.php?t=366924

Is this correct? Both ribbons are possible?

    Schmidt

The ribbon on your medal bar is correct. The other is just similar, but incorrect.

    Hi W!

    Nice Weimar era medal bar!

The bar "Somme" is also correct if you check the history of the Feld.Art.Regt 7:

1st bar no.3 is Verdienstkreuz des preuss. Landes-Kkriegerverbandes - quite a common weimar period award:

2nd bar no3 - no idea, too faded

    no 4 - Preussisches Kriegserinnerings-kreuz 2. kl. (sorry, I can't find a pic...)

With exception of the 4 place ribbon bar's first decoration (Iron Cross), all other ribbons are for inofficial Veterans' commemorative medals/crosses of the Weimar period (1919-1933).

The third one is very likely a faded Saxon WWI Veteran cross ribbon (green colour ribbons tend to fade a lot during time).

The cross looks like this... (from the website: http://www.herzovision.de/sachsens-orden/24a6bc96790dcbe01/24a6bc96790dd1a07/24a6bc98e90e09503/index.html ).

There are several classes and variants, with enamel or gilted metal cross.

    Ciao,

    Claudio
