speedytop Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Hi Christian, based on the book "Guido Rosignoli, Rang- und Ehrenabzeichen der Luftwaffen im 2. Weltkrieg", page 118, it was instituted in 1919 and used in WW II, but I do not know, how long. Uwe Edited August 7, 2009 by speedytop
Wood Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) Here is my set of ww2 wings to compare. I cannot see if mine are silver or gold bullion because of the tarnishing. Yours look too new and not finished. Unless it was embriodered directly to a tunic! Regards. Pete Edited August 8, 2009 by wood
Christian L Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 thanks a lot! and yes, mine seem to be not as old as yours - even though the quality on mine is quiet high. Christian
Herman Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Gents, Both wings in the pictures are Dutch pilot wings for pilots in the Dutch Naval Air Service and not in the Dutch Army and from 1953 Dutch Airforce. The bird is looking downwards. On the Army/Air force wings the bird is looking forward. Cheers Herman
