I hope all of you are correct. I ordered something from him two weeks ago and it hasn't arrived. I emailed him and asked him to check on it and there have been no responses. I usually get orders from Kai Winkler or Helmut Weitz in two or possibly three days. I certainly won't be recommending him to anyone in light of this transaction.

As I know, he was a longer time in vacation. But he should be back.

He is not a "full time" dealer like Weitze or Niemann. He had also a job.

All of you were/are right. Everything worked out and I suspect the delay was due to the fact that Marko used regular German Post as opposed to FedEx. I look forward to doing business with him again.

Thanks to all of you! Happy New Year! beer.gif

Guys, how your invoice from Marko looked like? Mine contained reference neither to any Marko nor any other company, there was just a logo saying "XT commerce". There are no terms and conditions on his site, no description of return policy and what worries me at most is the absence of payment via PayPal...

Did he changed his website in recent days or it is 'business as usual' and always been like that?

Thx.

I've bought many items from Marko and at first I was concerned because of a lack of communications, but since have found out that he has a job, goes to shows and is a very busy man. I firmly believe he is as honest as the day is long as I've always received everything in good condition. Once when the package was late due to bad weather, he said if it didn't arrive he would refund my money. It arrived. I personally like and trust Marko and would recommend him to all collectors. He will take PayPal too, but you have to write him about it. I hope one day to meet him and take him for a drink. beer.gif

    • Thanks for your reply Patrick, just in case some might not know what the Belgian WW1 Medal you were referencing looks like I have included one here. I understand that the small crown on the ribbon denoted the recipient was a volunteer.
    • Brian, Thanks for initiating this discussion. For me, it’s a combination of the thrill of the chase, the history behind the item, and the aesthetics, although this latter factor may seem a bit strange to some. To illustrate this, the very first thing I collected as a kid in the 1950’s was a Belgian WW1 medal, for service in 1914-18, which is bell shaped, with a very striking profile of a very dignified soldier, wearing an Adrian helmet which bears a laurel wreath. It was the image that
    • Thank you for sharing your story, it was most interesting and greatly appreciated, it makes this blog well worth the time to post. Regards Brian
    • Hello I started collecting when I found my first Mauser cartridges in a field next to my parents' house next to Armentières. I was eight years old.  Then shrapnel, schrapnell balls, darts... That's how I became a historian. When I was 18, we used to walk through the fields with a metal detector to find our happiness. It was my time in the army as a research-writer in a research centre that made me love the orders of chivalry. I've been collecting them for 24 years now. Christophe
    • Thank you for your most interesting comment. The thrill of the chase didn't interest me in the beginning but over time it started to overshadow the act of simply adding yet another medal or group to the collection. Regards Brian
