I picked up a bunch of images recently that show the Blockade Breaker award in wear.Part of a trade with a friend.

Here are a couple more and I will post other images later.

A tired looking German Navy Artillery Lieutenant, as a POW in 1946 (note the absence of the parrot) wearing his Naval Artillery Badge (with the swastika) on a rather worn out uniform.

It looks like the bird in the badge has lost the swastika, is that so Larry?

The swaztika is there, just a little hard to see.

Here is an interesting one.  I just took this in Chicago at the Museum of Science and industry. I found it interesting that this submariner also wore the Hilfskreuzer badge.  Photo is from the Museum of Science and Industry.  Picture is so poorly taken, it doesn't need a watermark.  :)  LOL!

    Hi Justin,

the Hilfskreuzers were pretty much done by the end of 1942 with only one ship going to sea in 1943 and that was the MICHEL on her ill fated second cruise.

Many former HK crewmen joined other branches of the Kriegsmarine including the U-Bootwaffe.It's not uncommon to to see this combination of awards in wear.

See my old post here #170.

    Regards,Martin
