Imperial U-Boot Badge Doc to U-Boot commander

    Recommended Posts

I just picked these 2 documents up. The first is the Imperial U-Boot Doc to a Kptllt. Philip Recke of U113. He was commander of which sunk 4 ships for a tonnage of between 4000 and 5000. He was in the class (Crew) of 1902. Following the war he immigrated to Brazil. How do I know? He Hindernburg document is stamped and issued from the Brazilian consulate.

Florianopolis... it bring back sweet memories to me! ;) That German Navy office really chose a great place to settle down in Brazil. It's one of my favorite places... great beaches, beautiful looking girls and delicious BBC restaurants (Churrascarias)!!! Way to go...:rolleyes:

Rick dug up some additional in on Recke. He returned to Germany sometime in 1935 and joined the Luftwaffe as a Major (E). In 1937 he was living Breitenüßach bei Bamberg. I did a google search and found

    Breitengüßbach (Dok v. 1939) Luftwaffenmunitionsanstalt 1/XIII

    Breitengüßbach Luftwaffenmunitionsanstalt 1/XIII

So I would assume he did something with ammo. He was promoted in Oberstlt sometime in 1939 and made Oberst sometime after. Recke was alive in 1963 and was still married to his wife Eva who was born in 25.11.1889. The additional information is from the Marine Offiziers Verbund.
