reinoudmilitary Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) Here are some pictures of the tellermuetze in my collection. It has a removable blue cover with the metal stiffner still inside and a nametag inside. The capframe has also a nametag and the typical plastic like material in the frame.I like it very much. besides 2 Kriegsmarine sidecaps which I already have, a junior officers visor cap will be in my collection january '06 Any comment is always welcome![attachmentid=20652] Edited December 31, 2005 by Gordon Williamson
Gordon Williamson Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Very nice example indeed. I hope you don't mind but I have edited your first three photos to trim off the excess white surrounding the actual photo, which made the images huge.Of particular interest here for those maybe not too familiar with the Tellerm?tze is the fact that actual issue pieces had a cellulose/plastic former inside the hat band as can be clearly seen here. Private purchase pieces will often have the cardboard formers more commonly found as band stiffeners, but official stores issue Kriegsmarine caps (as opposed to private purchase) is one of the few 3rd Reich pieces of headgear where it is good to see plastic !
reinoudmilitary Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks Gordon,For some reason I couldn't get the pictures right myself. When I have the visor cap i will post some pictures of it as well!
