I would like to post here some items I was very lucky to obtain

from a family friend who originally came from Brasov, central Romania

and whose father Dudàu C. Constantin

was an officer (Maior) in the Romanian Militia / Police.

    Close-up of ribbon bar:-

    1. Romanian R.P.R. Period Order of Military Merit II Class

    2. Romanian R.P.R. Period Order for Service to the Socialist Country - III Class

    3. Romanian R.S.R. 50th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party Medal

My friend is trying to locate more items, however, he thinks some objects were disposed of by his elderly Mother in the immediate post communist period after the Revolution of 1989.

This is the R.P.R. Brevet Decree nr. 5o3 din 22. o8.1963

    for conferring the Order :-

    "In Serviciul Patriei Socialiste"

    clasa a III-a

    locotenenttului major Dudàu C. Constantin

Pentru 15 ani vechime in unitatile militarizate ale

    Ministerului Afacerilor Interne.

    R. P. R. Militia / Police Parade Belt.

    R. P. R. Militia / Police buckle detail.

the belt has been in storage for many years and the black

piece is a strip of old perished rubber, that I am preparing to carefully remove,

without causing any damage to the item.

    UPDATE!!!

Arrived at my door last night, the awards of the late Maior Dudàu C. Contantin,

his wife found them while searching for some Christmas decorations.

Apparantly he got the "In Serviciul Patriei Socialiste" clasa a III-a,

for his police work in the investigation into a serial killer,

(will be doing some more research into that story.)

He also was a veteran of WW2.
