Robin Lumsden
Well, I'm pretty certain they didn't belong to this guy. But they are identical in every respect (or, should that be 'respex') to his ............. Complete with 1930s German maker's case.
Robin Lumsden
Odd thing is ................. 1. I bought them on eBay as a 'curio'. This type of 1930s German spex is actually very difficult to find. 2. When they arrived, I found that they had exactly the same prescription as my own glasses !!!!!!!! :speechless1:

Robin Lumsden
Reminds me of this .................... The picture shows a fantastic 'horned helmet', made for Henry VIII in 1514 when the king was twenty-three. It is all that remains of a full suit of body armour that was decorated with etching and silver-gilt fretted panels. It was made for Henry by Konrad Seusenhofer of Innsbruck as a gift from the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. It is said that Henry was a bit shortsighted, which is why this helmet has a pair of glasses on it. The helmet, along with other suits of armour and weapons from the Tudor period, can still be seen at the Royal Armoury museum in Leeds, which is well worth a visit.
