Rare award booklet

Recommended Posts

Yup-- that's the first "VG" series I've seen, and to a Colonel. Did you get any other awards paperwork for clues as to what Fedorov 's career was like?

Here is mine (never even folded-- it's so small I assume he slid it inside his normal sized medal award paperwork, "AB" for active duty air force aviation technical Major General Petukhov, along with the usual flimsy paper tiny issue type for comparison:

[attachmentid=23193]

[attachmentid=23194]

and their badges (Sergeant-major Rozov's odd silver one is actually dated 1972)

[attachmentid=23195]

A thought occurs to me:

I wonder if the blue hard covered ones were given to officers still on active duty in 1970?

Rick,

He was on active duty in 1970. He received the Medal for Lieder of Socialist Competition in 1978 (badge). Also the 25th GPW is the silver version.

Was he on active duty in 1970?

Hope to see the whole group up in the Researched Group sub-orum.

Meanwhile, if you have anything scanned there NOW...

here is read Russian... :rolleyes:
