Guest Brian von Etzel Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Was there a specially designed crown and swords for the beamten band? Here is the crown on the RAO found on the bar attributed to Karl Graf von Holnstein aus Bayern.Wow. Who is this Bob guy who has all these perfect examples?
Bob Hunter Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 He is a rake, a rogue and a scoundrel. A known associate of the twins including the evil one and is to be avoided at all costs.
Stogieman Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Agreed, very bad news. Be vewy, vewy cawefull.
Bob Hunter Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 ...and this evening's entry from Brunswick.
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) Now here's something I really enjoy, devices & mini's! Great idea Bob!!I've got quite a few, but here are the highlights, grouped together for easier viewing. I'm not naming all the awards they're on, as I'm sure most of you know 'em already. If I have a little more time later I'll see if I can't round up some sword devices, which I left out as a whole here. (There's just so damn many of the little buggers! )First, here are a few Crown & Sword Devices, EK devices & a couple of button hole devices as well as a couple swords & "VOR DEM FEINDE" bar.... Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) The next 2 are Wreaths, on Austrian awards, with slight variations to all. The first one has an enameled green wreath on the Austrian Order of the Iron Crown (probably my favorite bar too!)... Edited January 21, 2006 by Chris Taylor
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) A couple more Austrians, the bar on the bottom one appears to be actual silver! Edited January 21, 2006 by Chris Taylor
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 A couple W?rttemberg Wreaths & a Wreath w/sword on a 1920/30's Veterans bar....
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Now, only because Bob shared some of his rarer TR devices, I feel obliged to do the same. Here are my 5 Customs devices. If these babies are rare, then the first one is the rarest! A cut out variety w/LDO makers mark on the back. I can't recall though if it's L/11 or L/18. The one next to this is a 3/4 size example, the 3 on the bottom are the standard type, but each with subtle differences....
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Here are some more equally rare Medal minis.2 different Polizei 8 YR minis, 8 year SS mini device, 1936 Olymipcs medal mini, & 2 FLower War minis (Austria & Czech)....
Chris Taylor Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Last for now are these 3.The 1914-18 Non Combatant & West Wall mini aren't as rare, but are uncommon none the less. The one in the middle on the other hand is, the RAD LS device.
Christophe Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) Saxon fad:Just for my education, 1 (stupid ?) question : What lead you to think it is "saxon" ? Many thanks in advance.Cheers.Ch. Edited January 21, 2006 by Christophe
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Here is one of my favorites for BIG devices...
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Now two customs long service devices, one 3/4 size and the other full size.
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 (edited) Let's look at some wreaths. One gold, one silver and one big ugly! Edited January 22, 2006 by Bob Hunter
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Different style swords on full size ribbons.
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Crown and swords with the crown fastened through the swords.
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 ...and let's not forget the ubiquitous Prague bars...
Bob Hunter Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Interesting trio to include a very rare first form 1939 spange to the EKII.
webr55 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Just for my education, 1 (stupid ?) question : What lead you to think it is "saxon" ? Many thanks in advance.Cheers.Ch.The superfluous EK mini can be found mainly on Saxon ribbon bars, though some examples from Turkey exist also.
