Chris Boonzaier Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Check this out... I had EUR211 bid and thought it may go a couple of EUR higher... but this ?!?!?!!? http://cgi.ebay.de/urkunde-eisernes-kreuz-2-klasse-ek-bayern-1wk-landwehr-/130533138075?pt=Militaria&hash=item1e64619e9b&autorefresh=true
Deruelle Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 What a price, I though that the iron cross is sold with the paper, but not. A little overprice for me. that's my opinion. Christophe
Chip Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Chris, Looks like there were three other guys that thought more of this than you did! I gotta admit, I don't get it. Sure, it's pretty and all, but over 400 Euro....please. Somebody is totally oblivious to coming financial crisis. Chip Edited June 24, 2011 by Chip
militaria0815 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 In my eyes this extraordinary document is doubtless worth this price.
joe campbell Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 can't say much bad about someone who pays top dollar for this... not likely to get his money back real soon, but then that's not why he he bought it. joe
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 In my eyes this extraordinary document is doubtless worth this price. I dont know, the design is great, but there are better. The unit is not great and it was not for any of the major/Captivating battles. The sole factor is the nice design. Up until now, I would have guestimated the Price at about EUR200-250. However, there is a slight upward trend in EK doc prices. Apparently there are a new lot of collectors of these, unfortunately I have not been able to contact them.
Chip Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Let's face it Chris, everybody likes these, especially the Schmuck documents. Like you I prefer the ones from specific units and specific battles, but for the most part, collectors are looking at the graphics and that makes for a much wider audience. Chip

Chip Agreed, and I have some fantastic Schmuck Docs... But I think 1-2 years ago noone would have dreamed of these ever reaching a price like this... Maybe... slowly... EK docs are coming of age... I hoped that would only happen once I had them all ;-)
Chip Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Chris, That's what I say about shoulder straps. The prices have gotten ungodly, especially for the nice ones. ....and I don't have them all yet!!! Chip
