Championships of students/pupils in 1955, second place and champion (Meister).

Note the old national emblems, the flag without hammer and compass, the coat of arms still without compass (Zirkel).

With regards post number 6 and 19 I have a similar badge however its inscribed:

"Immer Bereit Für Frieden und Völksfreundschaft."

    Size: 31mm x 27mm.

    Pressed brass.

Very similar as number 3 top right, post 6.

I also have a same size similar design with a blue flag and letters "JP" in the background of the two runners

    with the slogan:-

"Sei Bereit Für Frieden und Völksfreundschaft."

    Hi Kevin,

there are many different badges with different inscriptions. It is difficult.

    For children:

Sei bereit für Frieden und Völkerfreundschaft (10 and 11 years old) > Be prepared for...

    and

Immer bereit für Frieden und Völkerfreundschaft (12 and 13 years old) > Always prepared for...

    For the youth:

Sei bereit zur Arbeit und zur Verteidigung des Friedens (14 and 15 years old)

    For adults:

Bereit zur Verteidigung des Friedens > Prepared for...

    later

    Bereit zur Verteidigung der Heimat

    Children and the youth:

    Uwe

It is the time before the DDR do exist. In 1948 it was the SBZ (Sowjetische Besatzungszone = Soviet Occupation Zone).

The town is Neustadt a. Rennsteig in Thuringia.

In lack of paper they used the old documents from the Third Reich, here from the NSRL (Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen).

The swastika on the eagle is present, but revised with a few additional lines.
