Hi there,

here is one photo of my collection by legion insignia which were worn by LCL Hans Eberle.

The picture of him was made by me during a five-day-visit at his home near Nimes in 2007. You can find it several times used in the internet.

Thanks.

Lieutenant Colonel Hans Eberle wa a German who served 37 years in the Legion, started with the rank of Legionnaire.

The legionnaires know him as "Mein Gott"

Here is another.

Each small line under the rank chevrons means five years service.

Here anther interesting peace.

A Captain´s kepi of the 1. REC, a former legionnaire, who became officer.

Watch the chevrons, you can see, that this kepi was a former 1st Lt. and was upgrated to a captain.

The lowest chevron is brighter silver and the right vertical, too.

Between the lowest and the middle silver chevron you can recognize a red string.
