Chris Boonzaier Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 This is a piece of History http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2_HQ6LgoVY
Mervyn Mitton Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 This will be nostalgic to all South Africans who served in the Border Wars. 32 Bn. had a fearsome reputation, although looking at the tummies on these NCO's you could have doubts. Any - and I mean ANY - item connected with this unit brings a premium - even their crockery. Thanks for the Video Chris. Mervyn
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 The unit is legendry in South Africa... http://www.32battalion.net/32%20Battalion%20a%20Short%20Overview.htm
Ulsterman Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Ah! Hmmmmm...I smell book/article opportunity here Chris and Mervyn.....
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Ah! Hmmmmm...I smell book/article opportunity here Chris and Mervyn..... Hi, there are some fine histories written by guys who were in the unit. Here on the forum I seem to remember Spasm was in the unit, and SAbrigade was in as well. Best Chris
Henry 24th Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I currently work with a fellow who was in this unit. He doesn't talk much about his experiences, but when he does release info it is usually very interesting! I was hoping to find him the 32 batt. cap badge as he destroyed everything before moving to Canada.
