Hmmm…you did say "favorite". This all reminds me of a song.

To the tune “My Favorite Things” as sung by Julie Andrews.

Tsingtau doc. groups and South See Pacific,

Army, or Navy flight badges to be more specific,

Research on medal bars that make their owner’s sing,

These are a few of my favorite things…

Doc. groups and medals to observers or pilots,

MPs and WPs with brave wartime highlights,

Orders with gold marks stamped on their rings,

These are a few of my favorite things…

    When the fake comes,

    When the group splits,

    When I was outbid,

I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad.

I collect Hanseatic Crosses. I like them on ribbons, ribbon bars, medal bars, etc.

I collect them because in my eyes they are beautifully crafted decorations (as most Imperial awards are) and for the most part affordable.

    Best wishes

    Matt

    Thank you for your opinions!

My fauvorite item is the Iron Cross (I have one of the WW1, the other crosses like 1813 or 1870 are still quite expensive for me), but I am "open-minded" and I am interesting to know other pieces.

I have another confession....i also have a real weakness for bars which include the good old Prussian Kriegshilfdienst Kreuz....I know, they're ugly and made from zinc, but they hold a real appeal for me :)

    Hi Alan,

Very nice collection you have there. congrats. I see you have second and first class of some of the nicest medals. Ust one is missing the first class of White Falcon with X. Pretty hard to find.

The Enamel Work, the Wonderful Colours and the Proud History of it All.

That's a great display you have! I see you don't like folding and threading the ribbons through the rings.

Besides the 1K White Falcon mX, is there anything you are still in the hunt for?

What do you feel is your "Moby-Dick" that you have long searched for?

Really for me it's about what turns up at a reasonable price.

Still looking for Reuss, Waldeck,Lippe Detmold items though.

Recently I thought I would have a go at EK equilvalents, but even these aren't that easy to find.
