Dave Danner Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Pretty cool. I like how he got the LS medal for 2x2+1 time as a Lt.dR. Are you talking about Curt Ziehm from the beginning of the thread? There was no double-counting for Wehrmacht Dienstauszeichnungen, and reserve officers didn't get them. But certain civil service in the Reichswehr/Werhmacht did count, as well as police service. Ziehm had 2 years, 9 months active service in World War I, was a Wehrmachtbeamter des höheren technischen Dienstes (Truppeningenieur m.d.W. einer Reg.-Baurat-Stelle beauftragt from 1.1.36 to 31.1.37, and a Reg.-Baurat from 1.2.37). His Beamter service was with Art.Regt. 39, Kraftf.Abt. 7, Kraftf.Abt. 10, and Pz.Jäg.Abt. 20. Edited January 7, 2014 by Dave Danner
Dave Danner Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Are there more of bis files? He was a Bavarian, so there is probably more detailed information on his World War I service in the Bavarian personnel records on Ancestry.com. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-432-0-45875400-1389106724.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-432-0-73037300-1389106755.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-432-0-20568000-1389106772.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-432-0-08214900-1389106796.jpg
elbavaro Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 about Ziehm: the war time in WW1 counted double! about Larsen: he wasn't original Bavarian; just served a time in the Bavarian Tank Detachment. Originally he was from Hamburg (when I remember right).

I also noted his war service and figured it counted towards his LS medal because I noted the date of his award and counted backwards. Even more enlightening....ESP. Given his release on 12.12.19 from the Baltic Freikorps! I just learned that Freikorps service counted towards the Wehrmacht LS medal. Edited January 7, 2014 by Ulsterman
