lew Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) Not a rare award but very nice hardware variant. Star device on the 'ribbon' is missing Edited March 15, 2013 by lew
demir Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Nice one. One can find especially this Greek War Medal with a hand crafted silver suspension instead of a red ribbon with green stripes.
makedon Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Any recipient could change the normal ribbon with a silver attachment, as in the photo? Were there any regulations for suspensions and ribbons in ottoman medals, or any variety was acceptable?
demir Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) Normally one must not make any changes, as the medals of other countries. Every medal has a special ribbon. For example The Greek War Medal's ribbon has 4 red and 3 green lines. I am sharing the picture of the medal which is in my collection. Most of the medals are red with green lines at the edges like the Liyakat (Merit) medal. Regards Demir Edited March 25, 2013 by demir
