Very nice JC! I especially like your TWO Peaceful National Foundation Medals.

    Very rare indeed!

    我也非常喜欢它们。

    设计样式和质感都非常让人着迷。

    非常中国。我相信它们都是中国造。

"I believe they are all made in China"

    Could be, could be JC...

But James Peterson was certainly right about one thing - the ribbon for 1942 Visit Medal looks 100% japanese ;)

Thanks JC, I will try to translate.

JC says the 1942 Visit to Japan Medal is mysterious and very rarely appears. When it does appear, it is only in Japan or the United States.

For many years in China, it was not even known that this medal existed.

Also I think he is saying that the ribbons we see might not be original to this medal?

    Is this possible?

I think no, since I saw pretty salty specimens with pretty salty (and same) ribbons (simply check the medal ribbon in post 5 ;))

I mean, what we see chapter to visit Japan medal, some have ribbon, some no ribbons。In either case, this is very rare .

    它们的绶带应该都是原始的

    from to JAP YAHOO

JC mentions it was unknown in China for many years, and only appears for sale in Japan or the US.

That, together with the strong resemblance to Japanese awards (box, ribbon, etc), suggests it was commissioned, manufactured and issued in Japan during the visit.

This is a beauty and interesting to see the seal on the presentation case.

Any sense as to how many were minted? Most would have survived in Japan I'd imagine as you wouldn't want to be found holding one in China after the Japanese surrender.

    目前所见,品相完整的章基本都出自日本。中国国内前很多年有出土的锈疙瘩。

Thanks JC. What JC is saying is that all of the medals that have appeared in recent years have been in Japan, certainly those that are complete.

Many years ago, a single rusty / damaged specimen was unearthed in China.
