Hi anybody able to confirm whether this is what I think it is? Also any recognition of stamps/marks

This style was used by many armies in the 1800s but the ones I have seen and owned were unmarked.

I hope one of the members will recognize the marking.

The marks/stamps (as much as i can read)

On hilt BF 885 42M 1838

On finger guard, a fancy W and I'm not sure what in an indent

On quillion i'm not sure what in an indent

Overall length 28 1/2" Blade 23 1/2"
