JapanX Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Reverse of early piece vs. Reverse of later piece
utopis Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Simply awesome! I didn't know you had such a large collection of precious crowns. Interestingly the Meiji pieces, although the oldest, seem to be made in the best quality.
JapanX Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Unfortunately not all these pieces are currently in my collection But this Meiji order is definitely a highlight here! Actually I think this is one of the very first orders of the crown. Even piece from Metropolitan museum has characteristics of later pieces http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58628-orders-of-the-precious-crown-from-the-collection-of-metropolitan-museum/page-2?hl=+precious +crown And we know that it is in the Museum collection since 1904
Rogi Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Meiji looks like a real piece almost custom with very fine detials, everything else looks like "factory" produced :D
Brian Wolfe Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Beautiful specimens and a real pleasure to behold. Thanks for posting them. Regards Brian
