Obergefreiter Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Today I bought the cross on the left from a guy on WAF. What can you folks tell me about these?
Megan Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Ethiopian Star of Victory 1941. It was issued to commemorate victory over the Italians and the restoration of sovereignty in 1941 by patriotic Ethiopian, British and Commonwealth troops who liberated the country, enabling Emperor Haile Selassie to re-enter Addis Ababa in triumph on 5 May.
Obergefreiter Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Thank you Megan. That's pretty much what I thought it was. NGL
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 And the ribbons are 10 times rarer than the medals!!
congobrown Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 The one on the right is the Eritrea medal
Ulsterman Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Yup, what are the sizes? They look shiny...like "prinzen" sized versions worn by some court officials and imperial Guard officers.
Obergefreiter Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 I can't speak for the one I didn't buy, but the "star" is a normal sized medal. Truth is, I'd hate to get hit in the face with it.
