JapanX Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 You don`t see these often. If ever ... This one was issued to Okubo Toshisada/大久保利貞 on April 1, 1906. Lieutenant-General Okubo Toshisada (1846-1918) was in command of 17th infantry brigade during R-J war. This doc was sold at YJ a few months ago together with his document for 2nd class scred treasure (these were broken as per usual...)

JapanX Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 Interesting, that after retirement from the army our General became the chief priest of the Kirishima Shrine. Toshimichi Okubo, the great revolutionist and statesman of Japan, is Toshisada's blood relative (cousin)
