Chuck In Oregon Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Those badges are absolutely stunning. I own a grand total of exactly one of them. It seems like you and I have some similar interests but you are far out in front of me. I congratulate you on your collections.Chuck
Riley1965 Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 WOW!!! An excellent collection of aviation badges. It's an area I want to add to my Soviet collection.Doc
Wood Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Very nice badges/awards? But not having any references on Russian badges, what are they for, and what do they say.Regards,Pete

gor Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 I don't know real badges with white enamel on the star.
Chuck In Oregon Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I say that I collect early Soviet aviation badges but truth is, I don't really have very many. They have been really tough for me to find and darn pricey when I do find a good one. Having said that, here is my modest collection. I also have some Imperial and even a couple of Trans-Caucasus Air Fleet, with a very rare one hopefully en route.Chuck
barnstormer1 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I have a lot of Soviet aviation pins and badges from a collection I bought about 15 years ago. Some of the more modern types, like Chirs showed, and lots of wings. Here are some screw backs with long central screw posts on the back. One of these, below, shows heavy wear on the enamel star with #3. I think these came before they were worth making copies. I am looking for a good reference/value guide to all the variations. This is the only thread that came up with search for Soviet, Russian, Aviation, Pilot badges with trying several variations of the above. What metal are these and are they plated? Any leads appreciated. I collect mostly Imperial German aviation. Always open to trades..Are these covered in either the "red bible" or the "green bible?"Here are a couple of samples of one type. There are many different types in several hundred examples. most are all different.
