ColinRF Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) The new 1/5 scale bust started. D'Hautpoul was a very famous general of cuirassiers, mortally wounded by a cannon ball at Eylau in 1807. Colin Edited February 21, 2014 by ColinRF
Spasm Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Cor, another nice one coming along Colin. I love these. Just great. Be nice to see more pictures of the work in progress. Stuff and tools in use as the figure progresses.

Stuff and tools in use as the figure progresses. Thanks gents. Spasm....you can see the WIP shots of it progressing here http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/general-of-division-dhautpoul.62361/ As this isn't a modelling site, I post fewer SBS shots here. Cheers Colin
Spasm Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Colin Yes, good site. They seem a lot more critical but then they all do this sort of stuff as well. I think you are probably your loudest critic, I am certainly more critical about my own work than anyone else (other than the admin staff obviously) - quite a lot still goes under the sander or in the bin. I'll keep going to have a look on there to see the WIP pictures. Crack on Steve
ColinRF Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Head finished and undercoated....time to start his chest. Included a shot of my hand for scale. Colin
TacHel Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Oh wow, smaller than I had imagined, so even more difficult to detail.
ColinRF Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 That's funny Frank as he is one of my larger ones.....a bit larger than a Ken doll would be. Thanks Colin
ColinRF Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Thanks Kris. Here's a shot with my big head for scale. Colin
TacHel Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 WOW!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the paint go on! It's incredible!
Spasm Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Two cool dudes there. I agree that one of them is looking a bit pale. You need to eat more vegetables Colin.
ColinRF Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Thanks gents. It was a challenging one as I have never sculpted armour before. Happy with the result though. Colin
peter monahan Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 And so you should be! If 'awesome' weren't such an overworked word I'd say it was awesome. Fabulous seems to fit. Thanks for sharing it.
drclaw Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Wow! This is fantastic work! I paint 28mm miniatures and occasionally 1/35. Painting (and sculpting) in your scale is just worlds, worlds above in levels of accomplishment.
ColinRF Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Thanks for the encouragement. Here is the finished model. Colin
Spasm Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Brill! Those metallics look great. Takes a good photo too. Well done Colin absolutely superb. May be worth taking a mould before you paint the next one.
TacHel Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 ABSO - (censored) - LUTELY BRILLIANT! WOW WOW WOW! STUNNING WORK! I AM BLOWN AWAY MAN!
