Order of the Golden Fleece

Recommended Posts

Is this piece exposed at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Vienna?

I think that the uniform is the emperor's one, because of the "Kriegsmedaille 1873" worn with the reverse as the visible side.

Best wishes,

Enzo

Yes, Enzo, it is Franz Joseph's badge in the Museum of Military History in Vienna.

Nice!

My humble contribution could be a small sized diamond set badge, either a large miniature or a prinzen size, enjoy!

IRemember the t&t fleeces. There was:a gorgeous emerald set  jewel i could not see a fault in the emerald under  ×8 magnification. There were also some glorious 18th century neck badges with dragon suspensions. The palace was something else. I was there with the wine, book and coach  specialists hence a few thick morning heads It was an educational experience i will never forget.

Interestting, do you have pictures of the other fleeces?

Another brilliant fleece was sold last year during the Bourbon-Parma auction at Sothebys (for ca. 1.500.000€)

Alas only a few were included in the sothebys t&t sale. The bruiser illustrated in the earlier post was included in a sothebys geneva jewellery sale.

I know this isn't a t&t one, it is a Bourbon-Parma one sold last year. I was just wondering if there are pictures of the other fleeces sold at the t&t auction back in 1992

Fleece from Louis XV of France (stolen 1792) with the legendary French Blue Diamond, which was most likely (i think it's already proven but I am not shure) the diamond from which the Hope-Diamond was cut out

A fleece neck decoration in Prinzengröße that was sold today at the Dorotheum for 137 500€. It belonged to Kaiser Maximilian von Mexiko. After his death it was given back to his adults, who gave it Crown prince Rudolf as to remember his uncle. Then it went to his daughter Erzherzogin Elisabeth and the to her heirs.

Has anyone ever seen such an enameled collar, similar in design to the neck badges, as this one of Leopold II?

The one labeled with number 1 is also a magnificent piece as it was the property of no one less than Metternich
