HM FELIPE VI NEW OFFICIAL PORTRAITS

Recommended Posts

Antonio - a good official portrait. I suppose beards are in fashion - and I see his badges of rank are the five stars in a circle.

I always thought that was the US insignia , but I expect it has been taken-up by other Countries.

I will pin this for you as he is the Head of State. Mervyn

Nice pictures of a member of the new generation of European kings. Only a pity that the king doesn't wear the collar of the order of the Golden Fleece, but some kind of miniature version. After all the Golden Fleece is one of the most esteemed orders of Europe and king Felipe is the Grandmaster.

Hello

Very nice.

To complet the previous post here have a link with some more portraits of kings of Spain provide by the city council of Sevilla. In special a good serie of last Borbons, you can find from Felipe V to Alfonso XIII all the legitimate kings, except Amadeo.

You can see now a very good film about him: Stella Cadente

Hello Mervyn

Sorry for tje delay in the answer, but I have no time to enter internet too much by now.

I'm glad you like the Link...

By the way, I wanted to comment the good moment in our countries relactions. (UK & Spain). More than one million british people stay in our country, working, etc,,, and mixed-weddings are growing all the time. My misstres come from english ancestors, curiously she have a "dolicocéfalo" skull althought she has brown skin in summer.

Regards

    • Sounds great other than the Orange & Mango squash only because I prefer cran-pomegranate juice.
    • "(...) disgusting herbal concoction (...)" I took note of this description, to enrich my otherwise limited, English "Wortschatz"...
    • At work the standard indian tea such as PG tips is referred to as chimp tea. This goes back to the days when we had a Spanish girl working for us whose command of the English language was extremely limited. One lunch she said she was going to the shop could she get anything. I asked if she could get a pack of tea bags. She returned with some disgusting herbal concoction. I tried to explain what was required but without success. I then remembered PG tips had a picture of a chimpanzee on the packe
    • When I read Lapsang Souchong i decided to post something about these Tea . Many years ago I dont  know about Lapsang until I read James Michener book Centennial and the description of the savour of the Lapasang as a mix of tar and salt & smoked made me proof . It was exact ! and i liked it since then .
    • I have been known to drink Lapsang Souchong and Tea, Earl Grey, Hot... both "without pollutants". I normally have one mug of coffee in the morning, then spend the rest of the day drinking Orange & Mango squash (by the pint). Then evening comes and it's a pint, followed by red wine with dinner and sometimes a drop of Laphroaig afterwards.
