Paul R Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Here is another set facilitated by my friend, Mattias. Thank you!A very nice set to a medical officer in the Bundeswehr army. I love the beret the most.
Jock Auld Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I thought the officers had bullion badges on their headgear? Most round here do that I have noticed anyway? I don't really know that much about the BW though to be honest so it would be good to know.CheersJock
speedytop Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Hi Jock,"... officers had bullion badges on their headgear?"They can, but they must not."Offiziere und Unteroffiziere dürfen selbstbeschaffte, handgestickte Abzeichen tragen." > they may wear ...Uwe
Jock Auld Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Aha, so if they are a bit tight they just go with the issue. Thanks for clearing that up for me I shall remember that in future!CheersJock
Paul R Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Thanks for the comments. I would love to find a bullion medical officer beret. Are they difficult to find?
Jock Auld Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Paul,I will keep my eyes open for you, you see lots of BW stuff at the markets and it is mostly inexpensive.Jock
aubagne98 Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Hi, according to the topic "Army doctor ..." ... well these are rank insignias of a 2nd and a 1st lieutenant. These are officiers of the medical corps, maybe "army doctor" cadetts who are in their university education with aesculapian insignia. Or older soldiers coming from the NCO´s ranks. The German Army doctor has the rank insignia of a captain, and gets the German pay grade A 13 of a major.Hauptmann with aesculapian insignia - Stabsarzt - pay grade A 13 as majorMajor with aesculapian insignia - Oberstabsarzt - A 14 as Lieutenant colonelLt. Col. with aesculapian insignia - Oberfeldarzt - A 15 as Lieutenant colonel (superior pay grade)Colonel with aesculapian insignia - Oberstarzt - A 16 as Colonel Michael
Paul R Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 Hello Michael, Thank you for the explanation. That makes sense. Here, doctors I've seen are of the Captain rank or above. Do you have any images of these slides with the medical emblem on them? Are they embroidered onto the field slides as well?RegardsPaul
aubagne98 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Hi, both are worn nowadays , in former days only metal. There are different kind of embroidered. Michael
Paul R Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Hi Michael,Can you please post the images? The links do not work for me over here. :-)RegardsPaul
aubagne98 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Hi, well, posting the photos is a little problem, because of the copyright. does this workhttp://www.ebay.de/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=anaconda62009&hash=item25a4bf2654&item=161677780564&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xstabsarzt.TRS0&_nkw=stabsarzt&_sacat=0 Michael
aubagne98 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Hi Paul, these two pictures I took last weekend at the Swiss 2 day March. The Oberstabsarzt told me, that he wears the non official rank slides. Well, that is the reason I wanted to take a photo for a collector friend I told him.
Paul R Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Those are very nice slides. I really like the first set a lot. Where did he have them made? Thank you for taking the images.
aubagne98 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi, these two photos I took last saturday at the IPA (International Police Association) March in Stuttgart.
Paul R Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Those are amazing. I like the added detail of the blue cord at the base of the shoulder strap. Is this optional?
speedytop Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi Paul,"... the blue cord at the base of the shoulder strap. Is this optional?"No, the "Schlaufe" (loop) is mandatory in the Army (Heer). It seems, that it is not the correct coloured loop, because the loop for medicals is dark blue; this loop seems to be medium blue, the colour for logistics.Uwe
Paul R Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 That shade of blue is a bit light in tone. Do you think that it could be from the flash?
speedytop Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I don't think so! Please enlarge it and compare:https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/ff/Div_BW_Litzen.JPGUwe
Paul R Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Thanks Uwe. Side by side like that, there is an obvious difference.
Jock Auld Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Couldn't remember what it was you were after and I picked this up in error today, prat that I am. I will still keep my eyes open. He had two army flyers berets too, burgundy coloured with a Luftwaffe style wing thing crossing a sword? I believe they may be stationed at Fassberg?
