CRBeery Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Here is one that I normally would not buy as it is not WW1 or earlier. An older collection is slowly being sold off and this became available and I decided to get it. Not often that you find the Mine medal mounted. I also like that it is a three kingdom bar which is a bit rare also. I believe the Mine Rescue Medal is from S&L. 1
J Temple-West Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Very nice, and as you say..."Not often that you find the Mine medal mounted"
turtle Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Very interesting medalbar, I´ve never seen a mounted Mine Rescue Medal before! The owner had an interesting career for sure as a WWI senior NCO and then in the Mine Rescue Service.
Paul R Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Very rare bar. Like the previous poster, I've not seen this medal mounted on a bar before.
CRBeery Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 I saw a two place bar that had it. This is really out of my typical collecting interest but I realize that very few of these were ever mounted in groups and decided to add it.
ixhs Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Sometime you can find the Grubenehrenzeichen on a bar. But i have only seen a few. I don`t collect 3rd R. - but your bar looks very nice and original.
Von Thronstahl Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Very nice medal bar. I have a question about Mine Rescue Medal. Was it awarded as other rescue medals, for particular lifesaving action or for being part of some rescue organization?
spolei Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Hello nice bar. What colour is the saxonia FAM? Is it bronce or silver? I suspect silver, as the bayr. MVK is also a 2nd grade for a Vizefeldwebel (segeant major). regards Andreas

The FAM is actually gold on this bar. I believe more as a fashion statement as I have seen this on other Saxon bars.
