pieter1012 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Hi fellow forum members, Recently I acquired this medal. I liked the design and it was cheap so I bought it. The medal must be Iranian from the Shah period because of the crown and the lion figure on the flag. The base material is silver with blue enamel and bronze medaillion plus crown. The backside is plain. Can anyone help me identify this medal and also tell me what the correct ribbon will be? Thanks for any information, Pieter Edited April 5, 2016 by pieter1012
g1usxs Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Hi - This is indexed an iranian Pahlavi era medal of cooperation. for ribbons please refer to following site: http://www.medals.pl/ir/ir1.htm
pieter1012 Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Hi g1usxs, thank you very much for the useful information on this Iranian medal. Looking at the persons on the medal, I suppose it is for cooperation between the army and civilian population. I checked the ribbon chart and the ribbon of this medal has an elaborate colour pattern, so unfortunately it will be difficult to match. Again, many thanks and regards, Pieter Edited April 16, 2016 by pieter1012
g1usxs Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 You very welcome. The medal itself is also very hard to find and rare.
pieter1012 Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Be assured that I will take good care of the medal. Hopefully, some day I can complete it with its ribbon. Regards Pieter
oamotme Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Pieter, I am advised it is the 2nd class of the Medal of Cooperation awarded by the military to civilians in recognition of valuables services rendered to the military. Regards, Owain
pieter1012 Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Hi Oamotme, thank you very much for the information on the Iranian medal. Thanks to the input of you and g1usxs the medal has now become a much more interesting addition to my collection. Regards, Pieter
