Order of Medjidie, commander class

Hello!

Can any one tell me from which period is this item? As I understood up to now, is a third class order but i dont know how to establish the period. Also, I have reserched the jewler on the back but... nothing up to now. Any aditional information will be more than welcomed.

Likely Crimea vintage [star connects to crescent by 2 points rather than 3/obverse center appears larger than later types].   Jacob lists Stopin at address on your plaque but provides no dates for that firm's production activity.

Thank you very much for your answer. The owner said that the award was presented to his grad,grandfather who was minister of defence for 3 months, during 1859-1866 period in the newly formed Principality of Romania. Can this be true? Does this model connect to that time period? Of course now comes another question. The guy wants to sell it. He locked on a selling site and he gave me a price but that was a price for a Turkish made not European. How much would be de difference between these two? Thank you in advance for future answers.

Stopin is noted for making Orders of the Medjidjie around 1855-1865. They are nice quality pieces and eminently collectable.

Stopin. Paul Stopin was originally a hatmaker in Paris, but one knows

from him a star of the Papal Order of Christ before 1860. Also a Grand

Cross set of the Portuguese Order of Christ is known by him as well as

Spanish and Turkish Orders. Address: 6 rue de Montpensier, and peristyle

228-231, Palais Royal.

-His successor was A. Dupetitbosq before 1880 who made Sicilian, Spanish,

and Turkish orders. His name disappeared in about 1888.

This is a beautiful piece, as Paul says it is an original period item made in France.

This one made just after the British Made ones (The flat ones without any maker's mark or other marks ... )
