Scribblings inside case of Taisho Enthronement Medal

Recommended Posts

Hello,

A few days ago I had a look at my Japanese medals. While I was handling the Taisho Enthronement Commemorative Medal, the interior of the box fell out. It revealed some writing I have never seen before, even though I have owned the medal for almost ten years.

Can some of you guys read it? Any help in translating the text will be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Very nice discovery! It should be:

4th year of the Taishō era (ndr: 1915), November 10th, a memento of the Enthronement ceremony
I think on the 17th of that month, that is on the day of the banquet in the prefecture council palace, I received (ndr: this medal).

In kanji (row by row):

大正四年十一月十日
御即位式紀念
今月十七日信、即
饗饌縣會議
事堂於賜
