Egorka
Cann't comment on autenticity. The number engraving looks odd though. But otherwise that is a known number for OGII to Titskij Aleksandr Fedorovich (Jan 1945).
Want2No
Thanks. Do you have this kind of info for other awards?
Egorka
No, I don't. But this one is googlable in Russian. Is it sold with provenance?
Egorka
Titskij (Тицкий) born 1924, otherwise had full bar of OG, all 3 grades. He served in recon unit since Dec 1942. OGIII in jan 1944. OGII in feb 1945. OGI in Jun 1945. He lived a long life, worked at aliminium plant, and lived in Volgograd. This of course all interesting if this a genuine order. Paul R
Thank you Egorka. This item was posted on another forum and met with some doubts too. My issue is the number looks as it it has been tampered with. Of course, it is possible that it is 100% legit, but in all of my years of collecting Soviet orders, I've never seen a number engraved in that manner. The two "1"s in front of the "473" and the last "1" look as if they were either part of a different number that was buffed off or were scratched in later. NavyFCO
I don't like how the gold looks on the award. Might just be the size I'm looking at the photo, but it seems that the gold was washed over some damage in the center of the medallion?
