Duncan
Hello, does anyone know the significance of the VX on this man's service number, VX6443 W Frier? It's on the reverse of an Africa Star. Also, does anyone know of a South African researcher who can get WW2 service records? Thanks Duncan.
coldstream
Duncan, Afraid I can't help regarding the VX prefix however for South African research try rhino.research@icon.co.za or dewald@nelantiques.co.za. Regards Simon.
gavinmedals
Hi, are you sure the Africa Star was awarded to a South African? The VX number looks more like an Australian service number prefix, indicating that the person joined or was from the state of Victoria. Just a suggestion as I do not recall seeing that prefix on South African medals
