The medal is awarded by the Board of Directors (Board) of Norges Vel and was first awarded in 1888.  The medal can be awarded to employees in both the private and public sectors.The medal for long and faithful service is not a state award and therefore does not appear in the King's House's ranking list of Norwegian orders and medals. On the other hand, the 2009 medal is approved for use on Norwegian military uniform, where it ranks second in "Group 4: Other Norwegian decorations".

The Medal for Long and Faithful Service was awarded in the first decades to employees in agriculture, as well as servants in private households. The first award took place on December 3, 1888, when five women and four men were awarded the medal.

 

Until 2004, the requirement was continuous employment with the same employer for 30 years. This was later moderated so that employment with interruptions could also qualify if the employee has been employed by the same employer for at least 30 years. The employer seeks the Royal Society of Norway's Well for the medal and is responsible for awarding it.

It is awarded about 3500 medals annually.

You have the version which has been awarded since 1946 and still is awarded. But they are all awarded with name and year ingraved. Not sure why your's hasn't.
