Bayern Posted November 5 Hello , In the Summer of 1942 the Germans transferred to the Italians in Ucraina the Administration of circa 50000 sq km populated with about half a million inhabitants , a vast reaguard area to mantain and care . with a friendly population they recruited a Auxiliary Police .to reinforce their own Carabinieri deployed. at the peak of their employement the Auxiliaries amounted to 2400 men distributed in 242 posts . The Italians also raised Cossack units , the Gruppo Savoia and the Gruppo Campello,cavalry units both .they retreated with the Italians and ended the war in Italy Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
dave123 Posted November 7 Thanks for replying Bayern, never seen any text that mentioned the auxiliaries raised by the Italians, can i ask where your information came from ?
