Bulgaria 1st Army badge

Recommended Posts

Bulgarian First Army badge "to Berlin".
This looks like a genuine piece to me but does anyone know more about it. I've read that it was worn on the sleeve.

Also, what would a fair price for this one be?

it's a rare badge, not many people here seen it, not sure you will get any opinions here.

I have managed to find some information and pictures after hours worth of research on Bulgarian sites.

The badge actually wasn't worn on the sleeve and it's an actual award making it unique in Bulgarian award system since it's not a medal or an order which was worn in the manner we all know. They started awarding these to every soldier of the 1st Bulgarian Army in March/April 1945 when the Army was still fighting in Hungary. The badge was worn on tunic's right pocket and it was sewn so it was even worn in combat. It was authorised for wear along the regular medals and orders.
