    Mannerheim Cross in wear

    Recommended Posts

I'm collecting pictures of Mannerheim Cross Knights wearing their award and I will share them in this topic. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture for all of them but it will still be nice to have the ones I could find in one place and possibly boost the interest among collectors.

I was thinking if I should do a list of all the recipients but you can already find it on Finnish wikipedia page.

Most of the pictures are from http://sa-kuva.fi/

Is he wearing a badge on his arm or is it thorn by a bullet or something?

    Interesting pictures btw!

Thank you for your interest and thank you for asking because you made me look for a more detailed photo and I've found one. I've replaced it and I think it's obvious now that the sleeve is thorn.

    Knight #26

Matti Varstala, awarded with the 2nd class on October 16, 1941

You´re right, it´s only thorn. First I thought that he was wearing some weird variation of the tank-destroyer badge since he´s standing next to the anti-tank rifle. But it didn´t look right.

The badge is white with a black tank on it (for those who didn´t know).
