Jersey Bouy
Does anyone recognize this buckle? It is cast brass and may have been gold gilt at one time. It has the look of a typical late 19th early 20th century US military buckle. The lion is in 3D relief. It measures 2 3/4" X 1 7/8" Thank you in advance. peter monahan
I know a tiny bit about early 19th century US uniforms and such [not 20th century so much] and I would have expected an eagle rather than a lion. The lion is, for me, a British symbol or, going world wide, Empire / Commonwealth and some European armies. Just my two cents worth.

Jersey Bouy
Just thought I'd bump this posting up and get some fresh eyes on it. I still have not found a definite ID for this buckle.
Marcon1
Looks like this one. I used Google images and typed 19th century military lion belt buckle. Plenty of lions including this one. No country or regiment mentioned, so still a mystery. Marcon1.
